Important Update for EU Customers: Changes to Import Charges from 1st July 2026
From 1st July 2026, new import charges will apply to shipments entering the European Union with a value below €150. We want to ensure our customers are fully informed about these upcoming changes and understand what charges may apply when receiving orders from the UK.
VAT on EU Orders
As has been the case for orders placed since 1st January 2021, destination country VAT is payable on delivery for orders shipped to EU countries. This means the VAT rate charged will depend on the country receiving the goods, for example:
- France: 20% VAT
- Germany 19% VAT
- Netherlands 21% VAT
- Other EU countries will apply their local VAT rates
Our courier partner, UPS, will usually contact you before delivery to collect this payment. UPS also applies a processing fee for handling these payments, which is typically around £10–£20.
New Additional Charges from 1st July 2026
For all orders with a value under €150, UPS will also apply the following import charges at the point of delivery:
| Charge Type | Cost |
|---|---|
| Fixed customs duty per product line | €3 |
| Additional UPS handling fee | Approx. €2 |
Please note:
- The €3 customs duty applies per product line/SKU, not per quantity.
- For example, ordering three of the same item should only incur one €3 charge.
- Orders containing multiple different products may incur multiple €3 charges.
- Please refer to current exchange rates for the GBP equivalent of the €150 threshold.
UK VAT Is Not Charged on EU Orders
We would also like to reassure customers that British VAT is not charged on orders shipped to EU destinations.
Why These Charges Apply
These charges are part of updated EU import procedures for low-value goods entering the European Union from outside the EU. While we appreciate this may be frustrating, these fees are collected by the courier and customs authorities rather than by us directly.
If you have any questions about how these changes may affect your order, please feel free to contact our customer service team before placing your order.
