Perfect pouch for travel and everyday use - space for tickets, passport, phone etc as well as a small camera or binoculars.
The Pola Stowaway certainly won't fit a DSLR but it will fit smaller cameras such as a mirrorless with a short lens, small fixed lens camera or rangefinder. See a list of example cameras and binoculars below.
The main compartment is padded on all 4 sides, plus the base. This makes it ideal to protect your equipment whilst travelling.
For ease of access the compartment features a double zip.
The Pola Stowaway (and Airline Stowaway and Compact Stowaway) have plenty of pockets.
A zip down the side of the bag gives you access to a pocket that's ideal for a passport. The zip on the front flap is perfect for a memory card.
Under the front flap is another deep dump pocket.
Adjust the removable shoulder sling to your height or remove completely if you wish!
Two stitched belt loops on the back to allow your hands to keep free when travelling or out in the field.
Just behind the belt loops is a deep dump pocket.
The Pola, Compact and Airline Stowaways are identical in features. The only difference between them are the dimensions.

You can find out sizing for each specific part of the product. Just select a section from the below options to find out more details.
A rangefinder camera (e.g. Leica M9 with small lens attached) with space for a passport, tickets, memory card, phone etc.
A small mirrorless camera (e.g. Olympus E-PL10, Canon EOS M200, Sony A6000, Fujifilm X-A7 with small lens attached) with space for a passport, tickets, glasses case memory card, smartphone etc.
A small fixed lens camera (e.g. Fujifilm X100F, Sony RX100 VII, Leica D-Lux 7 etc) with space for a passport, tickets, Nintendo 3DS, memory card, phone etc.
Small-to-medium binoculars (e.g. Leica Ultravid HD-Plus 10x42 or ZEISS Victory SF 10x42) with space for passport, tickets, glasses case, iPhone etc.
iPad Mini (6th gen), Amazon Fire 7" and similar very small tablets.
Please note that there is no way to sub-divide the main compartment in this bag, so the iPad Mini may bump against any camera gear you have inside with it. Adding a very slim case may be sensible. Storing a tablet will reduce the space available for camera gear. Aim for tablets less than approx 195mm (7⅝") tall and 135mm (5¼") wide if you can, although slightly bigger is possible.
Does this bag need re-proofing to keep it waterproof?
No. The fabric is made of 3 layers - the middle layer is butyl rubber. Water cannot pass through this butyl rubber layer. As long as you don't get a hole in the fabric or expose it to harsh chemicals (for example in a washing machine) the fabric should remain waterproof for many years. There is no need to apply re-proofing.
What is the difference between 'Canvas' and 'FibreNyte'?
In simple terms ‘Canvas’ or ‘FibreNyte’ refers to top layer of fabric on our bags – the facecloth.
‘Canvas’ is a mix of cotton and polyester. ‘FibreNyte’ refers to our face fabric that is completely synthetic. Canvas is hard wearing, FibreNyte is very hard wearing.
Both fabrics are bonded to a non-wicking polyester backing fabric with a middle layer butyl rubber – this rubber layer makes both fabrics equally (and very) waterproof. Water can’t get through that rubber layer.
Both fabrics have a similar weave - the FibreNyte looks similar to canvas. Canvas is slightly softer to the touch, FibreNyte is slightly rougher to the touch.
People tend to choose Canvas if they want the bag to age gracefully and look vintage over time. This is particularly true of people who choose our ‘Khaki Canvas’ fabric as this looks particularly lovely as it ages.
People tend to choose FibreNyte if they want the bag to look newer for longer or if they are particularly hard on their gear - for example by carrying the bag to work with them every day, doing a lot of hiking or filling it particularly full. Also Sage FibreNyte is particularly attractive as a colour – it’s probably the most popular colour among our staff!
Is the shoulder sling removable?
Yes the shoulder sling can be removed (and reattached after).
Can you attach a shoulder pad to the shoulder sling?
Yes - the SP10 shoulder pad fits. Other sizes do not fit.
Make sure to choose the colour to match your bag!
Is the length of the shoulder sling adjustable?
Yes it is! It can be adjusted between 1000mm (39⅜") and 1750mm (68⅞") approx.
Do I need to buy the shoulder pad?
The shoulder pad isn't essential but can stop the strap from digging into your shoulder if you're carrying heavy gear inside the bag. It can also reduce the chances of the bag slipping off your shoulder. If you do buy a shoulder pad remember only the 'SP10' size fits.
Could this be used to carry binoculars?
Yes! It should carry small-to-medium sized binoculars - just double check their size against the internal dimensions of the bag.
What is the difference between the 'Compact Stowaway', the 'Airline Stowaway' and the 'Pola Stowaway'?
They are all the same design and vary only in their size:
Another way of saying this - the Pola is wider than the Compact and the Airline. The Airline is taller than
Can you attach dividers inside this bag?
No. The inside of this bag is made with a sheer fabric - therefore it is not possible to attach any of our Velcro® dividers inside. However the Pola can fit some of the smaller SuperFlex Partitions inside - the 6-12, 6-15 and 7-15 sizes will fit. Please check the sizes carefully in the diagram half way down that page - the position of the middle divider in a SuperFlex will make a big difference to what you can store inside it. These do not attach inside with Velcro but should still stay in place.
Can this fit an iPad Mini inside?
No. If you want to carry an iPad Mini please look at the 'Airline Stowaway' instead. Read the FAQs on that page for more information on carrying an iPad Mini in that bag.
