The Mini Eventer includes a removable, padded insert that enables you to turn the bag from a camera bag to a messenger bag in seconds.
The flexible padded insert is made from dense, fabric covered 'closed cell' foam and provides impact protection on the front, back, base and sides. Like the bag itself, the insert is a little flexible.
Also included are two large vertical padded dividers and two smaller 'flap' dividers. You can use the vertical dividers to split the bag into columns and the flap dividers to stack gear within those columns. The exact arrangement that is possible for you will depend on the size of your gear.
The top-grain leather covering the base and bottom ⅓ of the front and back walls increases longevity, as well as creating a luxurious look and feel.
Keep important documents safe and on-hand in this back pocket with a weatherproof zip to protect paper from the elements.
Sewn into the back of the padded insert is a dedicated padded tablet slip, designed to fit an iPad up to 11".

The main compartment has a dual, weatherproof zip, maintaining protection from the weather even when the main flap isn't over the bag.
The dual zips allow you to access only part of the bag if you don't want to open all of the main compartment up.
A handy, practical feature that allows you to secure your bag to your luggage when travelling through a busy airport or city.
The luggage trolley retainer strap is just below the opening to the back pocket.
The zips to the main compartment can be tucked behind the front and back walls of the padded insert - allowing you to easily dip in and out of your bag without the zip in the way.
Quickly open and close your bag using the quick release front straps by simply pushing the front straps up and off the clogballs.
Once the leather softens, you should be able to open the bag one-handed whilst wearing the bag!
The buckles allow you to fine tune the 'fit' of the front pockets. You don't need to use the buckles to open the bag.
An easy carry top handle is reinforced with fibreglass and has leather on the underside to provide extra comfort when carrying the bag using just the top handle.
There are only two differences between the Mini Eventer and Eventer MKII:
Perfect for cables, film, spare batteries or just general extra storage space!
The top flap has been designed to prevent rain or snow getting into the main compartment. It is made of the same three-layer waterproof fabric as the rest of the bag.

What are the differences between the Mini Eventer and the Eventer MKII?
What are the differences between the Mini Eventer and the Hadley Small Pro?
What are the differences between the Mini Eventer and the Hadley Pro 2020?
Can this bag fit a 9.7, 10.2 or 10.5 inch iPad?
Yes these devices would fit in the padded tablet compartment instead of an 11inch iPad very easily.
Can this bag fit a 13inch MacBook Air or MacBook Pro?
No. There isn't even a way to squeeze one in. If you want to fit a 13" MacBook we would recommend the Eventer MKII or the Hadley One both of which have dedicated padded 13" laptop compartments.
Do the buckles make the bag slow to get into?
No, you do not need to use the buckles to get into this bag. The buckles are only designed to occasionally adjust the front straps in height or to allow you to pack a little more or less into the bag. We recommend keeping the straps inside the buckle during normal use and only using the 'Quick Release Straps'.
For frequent use, the Mini Eventer Front Straps are opened by sliding the top of the strap off the brass clogball (round stud). This is a very quick way to open and close the bag, many people learn to do this one-handed as the leather softens.
You can keep the bag itself open whilst shooting, just don't put the straps back on the clogball until you want to close bag.
Can the zips be tucked out of way when I'm using the bag so I can get items in and out more quickly?
Yes. The Mini Eventer has the 'TukTop' feature which allows the zips to be safely tucked behind the front and back walls of the padded insert when the bag is in use. This allows you to easily dip in and out of the bag frequently without the zips interfering and without needing to keep zipping the bag up.
Does this bag need re-proofing to keep it waterproof?
No. The fabric is made of 3 layers that are bonded together consisting of: an outer material of Canvas or FibreNyte, a middle layer of butyl rubber and an internal lining. The middle layer of butyl rubber ensures that water cannot pass through. As long as you don't get a hole in the fabric or expose it to harsh chemicals (for example in a washing machine) the fabric should remain waterproof for the bags lifetime and should not need re-proofing.
This remains the same regardless of if you choose a Canvas or FibreNyte bag.
What is the difference between 'Canvas' and 'FibreNyte'?
In simple terms ‘Canvas’ or ‘FibreNyte’ refers to top layer of fabric on our bags – the facecloth.
‘Canvas’ is a mix of cotton and polyester. ‘FibreNyte’ refers to our face fabric that is completely synthetic. Canvas is hard wearing, FibreNyte is very hard wearing.
Both fabrics are bonded to a non-wicking polyester backing fabric with a middle layer butyl rubber. It is this butyl rubber layer that makes both fabrics equally (and very) waterproof. Water can’t get through that rubber layer.
Both fabrics have a similar weave. FibreNyte looks similar to canvas. Canvas is slightly softer to the touch, FibreNyte is slightly rougher to the touch.
Canvas is usually selected if you would prefer the bag to age gracefully and have a 'vintage' look over time. This is especially true of people who choose our ‘Khaki Canvas’ fabric, as this looks particularly lovely as it ages.
We recommend FibreNyte for those that want their bag to look newer for longer or if you are particularly hard on your gear - for example doing a lot of hiking, packing the bag full and using daily. If you are buying a black bag it is particularly worth considering, as FibreNyte is more colour-fast so will keep its colour for longer.
Which shoulder pad fits this bag?
The SP50 Shoulder Pad fits this bag - it is already included in the price so you only need to buy it if you have lost or damaged yours. The SP20 Shoulder Pad can also fit if needed but isn't included.
Does this bag have a removable padded insert?
Yes this bag comes with a removable padded insert included in the price. You can take the padded insert out if not carrying cameras - this turns the bag into a great casual bag.
How does the removable padded insert attach inside of the bag?
It attaches with pop-clips on the front and back of the insert. These match up to clips on the front and back inside walls of the main compartment of the bag.
Can end pockets be attached to this bag?
No. End pockets can not be attached to this bag.

Please remember that there is a padded area for a tablet inside the main compartment - in the back of the padded insert. So while this review shows the tablet in the rear pocket it isn't necessary to carry it this way.
