Hadley Large Padded Insert (Olive)
Hadley Large Divider Set (Olive) 2 x Small (flap) and 2 x Large (vertical) dividers
Hadley Front Straps (Stitched - Black) Pair
The flexible padded insert protects your equipment on all sides, including the lid. Like the bag itself it is flexible front-to-back to allow it to fit slightly bigger camera gear than its dimensions suggest.
2x vertical dividers and 2x horizontal flap dividers are included and can be attached anywhere inside with Velcro®.
It can also be removed to turn the bag from a camera bag to a casual messenger bag in seconds.
The spacious front dump pockets are perfect for cables, film, spare batteries, lens wipes and those little bits and bobs you want to keep separate.
Release the pop-clip to increase their capacity or keep the pop-clip closed to use the area to store a clip-pen.
The stitched, leather front straps have the 'Quick Release System' feature, simply lift the top of the strap up-and-over the brass clogball for quick access to the main compartment.
The buckles allow you to fine tune the 'fit' of the front pockets. You don't need to use the buckles to open the bag.
The particularly discrete styling of the Hadley Large means that it doesn't look like a camera bag at all – ideal for travelling without drawing attention.
As a slim bag it's naturally flexible, moulding to the body of the wearer and helping weave through crowds.
The sculpted top flap helps prevent rain, snow or unwanted fingers getting into the main compartment.
It is made of the same 3-layer waterproof fabric as the rest of the bag.
The shoulder sling is made of shuttle woven polyester with a brass fixing to allow you to adjust the length to suit your height and shooting style.
The sling is compatible with the SP15 and SP40 (recommended) shoulder pads – not included.

Almost any mirrorless camera with a medium-long lens attached (e.g. Fujifilm XT-4, Sony A7IV, Canon R6, Nikon Z7 with lens approx 20cm long attached). Plus 2-4 lenses.
Often used to carry two cameras with medium-to-long lenses attached side by side.
What are the differences between the 'Hadley Large' and 'Hadley Large Pro'?
The 'Hadley Large' and 'Hadley Large Pro' are the same height (if you ignore the top handle on the Hadley Large Pro). However, the Hadley Large Pro is longer (left-to-right) and deeper (front-to-back). The Hadley Large is a very slim bag while the Hadley Large Pro is a bit chunkier.
The Hadley Large Pro also has a top handle, a wider shoulder sling (50mm vs 38mm), a zipped rear pocket and a partially padded laptop slip in the back. The Hadley Large does not have these (although you can place a 16inch MacBook Pro behind the padded insert - see note below).
Both bags have a removable padded insert. The removable padded insert in the Hadley Large has brushed nylon inside so you can attach the included Velcro® padded dividers anywhere inside*. The Hadley Large Pro's insert is smooth inside apart from two strips of Velcro® placed horizontally on the front and back walls of the padded insert - this slightly limits where you can attach dividers.
The Hadley Large Pro includes two vertical dividers to let you split the removable padded insert into three columns. The Hadley Large also includes two vertical dividers, however, it also includes two horizontal flap dividers to let you stack lenses etc within those columns - the Hadley Large Pro does not include these horizontal flap dividers.
*Please note: In Orange coloured Hadley Large Padded Inserts, as previously supplied with 'Imperial Blue' coloured bags, the insides are smooth with two strips of Velcro® front and back.
How does the size of this compare to the 'Hadley Pro', 'Hadley Pro 2020' and 'Hadley Large Pro'?
The Hadley Large is slightly wider and quite a bit taller than the 'Hadley Pro' and 'Hadley Pro 2020'.
Its smaller in every dimension than the 'Hadley Large Pro'.
Can this bag fit a DSLR with a 70-200mm lens attached?
Yes! It will fit a typical Canon or Nikon DSLR with a 70-200mm lens attached. It will still fit with a battery grip attached (or if its a tall one like a Canon 1DX) but it will push the front of the bag out quite a bit - in that case you might want to go with the 'Hadley Large Pro' instead.
Do the buckles make the bag slow to get into?
No! You don't use the buckles to get in the bag!
Hadley front straps are opened by sliding the top of the strap off the brass clogball (round stud). This is a very quick way to open and close the bag - many people learn to do this one-handed as the leather softens.
The buckle is only used very occasionally to adjust the fit of the bag - to give you a tighter or looser fit depending on what you are carrying. We'd recommend keeping the strap inside the buckle during normal use - this keeps the straps securely attached to the bag.
You can keep the bag itself open while shooting - just don't put the straps back on the clogball until you want to close bag.
Does this bag need re-proofing to keep it waterproof?
No. The fabric is made of 3 layers - the middle layer is butyl rubber. Water cannot pass through this butyl rubber layer. As long as you don't get a hole in the fabric or expose it to harsh chemicals (for example in a washing machine) the fabric should remain waterproof for many years. There is no need to apply re-proofing.
What is the difference between 'Canvas' and 'FibreNyte'?
In simple terms ‘Canvas’ or ‘FibreNyte’ refers to top layer of fabric on our bags – the facecloth.
‘Canvas’ is a mix of cotton and polyester. ‘FibreNyte’ refers to our face fabric that is completely synthetic. Canvas is hard wearing, FibreNyte is very hard wearing.
Both fabrics are bonded to a non-wicking polyester backing fabric with a middle layer butyl rubber – this rubber layer makes both fabrics equally (and very) waterproof. Water can’t get through that rubber layer.
Both fabrics have a similar weave - the FibreNyte looks similar to canvas. Canvas is slightly softer to the touch, FibreNyte is slightly rougher to the touch.
People tend to choose Canvas if they want the bag to age gracefully and look vintage over time. This is particularly true of people who choose our ‘Khaki Canvas’ fabric as this looks particularly lovely as it ages.
People tend to choose FibreNyte if they want the bag to look newer for longer or if they are particularly hard on their gear - for example by carrying the bag to work with them every day, doing a lot of hiking or filling it particularly full. If you are buying a black bag it’s particularly worth considering FibreNyte as it will stay looking blacker longer. Also Sage FibreNyte is particularly attractive as a colour – it’s probably the most popular colour among our staff!
Which shoulder pad fits this bag?
The 'SP15' and 'SP40' sizes both fit this bag. The 'SP15' has more grip whereas the 'SP40' has more padding. For most customers we recommend the SP40 shoulder pad.
Remember to select the correct colour for your bag!
Do I need a shoulder pad for this bag?
The shoulder pad isn't essential but can stop the strap from digging into your shoulder if you carrying heavy equipment inside the bag or carrying it for long periods. It can also reduce the chances of the bag slipping off your shoulder if you don't wear it across the body. Remember only the 'SP15' and 'SP40' sizes fit this bag. Buying it with the bag will save the postage cost of buying it separately later.
Does this bag have a removable padded insert?
Yes this bag comes with a removable padded insert included in the price. You can take the padded insert out if not carrying cameras - this turns the bag into a great casual bag.
Can end pockets be attached to this bag?
No. However AVEA pockets do attach to the 'Hadley Pro', 'Hadley Pro 2020', 'Hadley One' and 'Hadley Large Pro'. So if you need to add occasional extra space those bags might be a better option for you.
