Hadley Pro Removable Padded Insert (Olive) 1x Padded insert, 2x small (flap) dividers, 2x large (vertical) dividers
Hadley Standard Front Straps (Stitched - Tan) Pair
The flexible padded insert is made from dense, fabric covered, 'closed cell' foam and provides impact protection on all sides, including the lid. Like the bag itself it is flexible front-to-back to allow it to fit slightly bigger gear than its dimensions suggest.
2x vertical dividers and 2x horizontal flap dividers are included and can be attached anywhere inside with Velcro®.
The padded insert can also be removed to turn the bag from a camera bag to a casual messenger bag in seconds.
The front dump pockets are perfect for cables, film, spare batteries and those little bits and bobs you want to keep separate, whilst providing great extra storage space.
On the top-outside corner of each pocket is a pop-clip. Release this to expand the space available. Keep it closed to form a perfect place to clip pens, pencils etc.
The rear of the bag has a zipped pocket and is ideal for slim papers such as maps etc. The zip is protected by a flap made out of the same 3-layer waterproof fabric as the bag.
The shoulder sling is made of strong woven polyester and is adjustable in length to suit your height and shooting style.
The sling is compatible with the SP15 and SP40 (recommended) shoulder pads – not included.
The stitched, top-grain leather front straps have the 'Quick Release System' feature. Simply slide the straps up-and-off the brass 'clogballs' at the top for quick and easy access.
Once the leather softens and you become used to it is likely that you'll be able to open the bag one handed while wearing it.
The buckles allows you to fine tune the 'fit' of the front pockets. You do not need to use the buckles to open the bag.
An easy carry top handle is reinforced with fibreglass, allowing you to pick up and carry the bag without using the shoulder sling.
The reinforcement has the extra benefit that it stops the bag bunching as you pick it up.
Increase storage by attaching any one of our optional AVEA End Pockets to the side patches.
The photo is of AVEA 7 End Pockets. AVEA 3, 5 & 8 also fit.
The sculpted top flap helps prevent rain, snow or unwanted fingers getting into the main compartment. It is made of the same 3-layer waterproof fabric as the rest of the bag.
The discrete styling of the Hadley Pro means that it doesn't look like a camera bag, which is ideal for travelling without drawing attention.
The bag is naturally flexible and moulds to the body of the wearer. Its slim body makes it a great bag to weave through crowds with.

The Hadley Pro and Hadley Pro 2020 have the exact same internal padded insert and can therefore carry the same amount of equipment.
The difference between the two camera bags is that the Hadley Pro 2020 has the following upgraded features:
There are minimal external dimension differences due to the different shoulder sling fixings on the Hadley Pro 2020.
External dimensions
W390mm (15⅜") x D160mm (6⅜") x H240mm (9⅜") (excluding top handle)

Internal dimensions (Main Compartment)

Please note this bag and its padded insert are flexible - especially front to back. It can fit items slightly larger than the dimensions suggest. The bag can comfortably bow out to a 'D' measurement of 100mm (3⅞") at the bottom and 120mm (4¾") at the top (centre), at a stretch it can go out to 160mm (6⅜"). The top flap of the insert is also flexible so you can put in items slightly taller if you need to.

Does the Hadley Pro use the same padded insert as the Hadley Pro 2020?
Yes, as the internal capacity of the Hadley Pro is the same as the Hadley Pro 2020 they are compatible with the same padded insert.
Do the buckles make the bag slow to get into?
No, you don't use the buckles to get into this bag. The buckles are only designed to occasionally adjust the front straps in height or to allow you to pack a little more or less into the bag. We recommend keeping the straps inside the buckle during normal use and only using the 'Quick Release Straps'.
For frequent usage, Hadley Front Straps are opened by sliding the top of the strap off the brass clogball (round stud). This is a very quick way to open and close the bag, many people learn to do this one-handed as the leather softens.
You can keep the bag itself open whilst shooting, just don't put the straps back on the clogball until you want to close bag.
Does this bag need re-proofing to keep it waterproof?
No. The fabric is made of 3 layers - the middle layer is butyl rubber. Water cannot pass through this butyl rubber layer. As long as you don't get a hole in the fabric or expose it to harsh chemicals (for example in a washing machine) the fabric should remain waterproof for many years. There is no need to apply re-proofing.
What is the difference between 'Canvas' and 'FibreNyte'?
In simple terms ‘Canvas’ or ‘FibreNyte’ refers to top layer of fabric on our bags – the facecloth.
‘Canvas’ is a mix of cotton and polyester. ‘FibreNyte’ refers to our face fabric that is completely synthetic. Canvas is hard wearing, FibreNyte is very hard wearing.
Both fabrics are bonded to a non-wicking polyester backing fabric with a middle layer butyl rubber – this rubber layer makes both fabrics equally (and very) waterproof. Water can’t get through that rubber layer.
Both fabrics have a similar weave - the FibreNyte looks similar to canvas. Canvas is slightly softer to the touch, FibreNyte is slightly rougher to the touch.
People tend to choose Canvas if they want the bag to age gracefully and look vintage over time. This is particularly true of people who choose our ‘Khaki Canvas’ fabric as this looks particularly lovely as it ages.
People tend to choose FibreNyte if they want the bag to look newer for longer or if they are particularly hard on their gear - for example by carrying the bag to work with them every day, doing a lot of hiking or filling it particularly full. If you are buying a black bag it’s particularly worth considering FibreNyte as it will stay looking blacker longer. Also Sage FibreNyte is particularly attractive as a colour – it’s probably the most popular colour among our staff!
Which shoulder pad fits this bag?
The 'SP15' and 'SP40' sizes both fit this bag. The 'SP15' has more grip whereas the 'SP40' has more padding. For most customers we recommend the SP40 shoulder pad.
Remember to select the correct colour for your bag!
Do I need a shoulder pad for this bag?
The shoulder pad isn't essential but can stop the strap from digging into your shoulder when carrying heavy equipment inside the bag or carrying it for long periods. It can also reduce the chances of the bag slipping off your shoulder if you don't wear it across the body.
Remember only the 'SP15' and 'SP40' sizes fit this bag. Buying it with the bag will save the postage cost of buying it separately later.
How do I buy the 'Sage FibreNyte with Camo Front' colour?
The 'Sage FibreNyte with Camo Front' colour combination was available only to those who pre-ordered on or before the 22nd September 2019. Some retailers may have limited stocks remaining but it's getting very rare now!
Does this bag have a removable padded insert?
Yes this bag comes with a removable padded insert included in the price. You can take the padded insert out if not carrying cameras - this turns the bag into a great casual bag.
Does this bag hold a 13 inch MacBook?
Yes it does, however it would have to go between the padded insert and the outside of the bag - so it wouldn't be very well protected. Many customers do use this bag this way however (and the 'Hadley Pro 2020') and none have reported damage to their device.
Please note that the device can push out the corners of the bag which might cause premature wear - so if you did use the bag for this it would be sensible to go with a FibreNyte version of the bag as this is more resistant to wear.
The Hadley One has a dedicated, padded 13 inch laptop slip. So if you need to carry a 13 inch laptop that might be a better option for you.
The front to back internal measurement is only 80mm but you say it will fit a DSLR? How does that work?
The bag is very flexible! At the bottom of the bag it can easily expand out to a 100mm front to back measurement, and at the top 120mm is a comfortable amount with 160mm being do-able if you need it to. So this easily covers most DSLRs inserted lens-down so long as you haven't attached a battery grip. By this standard the Canon 5D, Canon 6D, Canon 7D, Canon 80D, Nikon D750, Nikon D810, Nikon D850 and Nikon DF will fit just fine with 2 or 3 lenses.
The Canon 1DX, Nikon D5 or any DSLR (the ones with mirrors in) with a battery grip attached will be a struggle to fit in lens down - for those we would probably recommend something like a Hadley One (with the optional full size insert, a Hadley Large Pro or our 5-series and 7-series bags such as 207, 335 etc.
Finding Range
Please note the zip on the back of the bag has been updated since the review - it now features a flap made of the same fabric as the rest of the bag.
